Maybe you don’t need a completely new life.
Maybe you just need to look at the life you already have and ask what you want more of — and what you’re ready to leave behind.
What do I want more of in my life?
Before thinking about what needs to change, start with what you want to grow. More energy? More freedom? More adventure? More meaningful work? More time with people you love?
Write down three things you want more of in your next chapter.
What am I ready to leave behind?
A new chapter also needs space. Think about the habits, obligations, expectations or roles that no longer fit the person you are becoming.
Finish this sentence: “In my next 40 years, I no longer want to spend my energy on…”
What makes me feel most alive?
Think about the moments when you feel energized, curious and fully yourself. What are you doing? Where are you? Who are you with? These moments are clues to what you may want more of.
Write down three moments from the past year when you felt truly alive. What did they have in common?
What have I been postponing?
Some dreams don’t disappear — they simply get pushed aside by work, family, responsibilities or the belief that there will be a better time later. What keeps returning to your mind?
Name one thing you’ve wanted to do for years. Then ask yourself: “What would be the smallest first step I could take now?”
What does my body need for the life I want?
Your next chapter isn’t only about what you want to achieve. It’s also about having the energy, strength and health to experience it. What would help your body support the life you want to live?
Choose one thing your future self would thank you for: moving more, getting stronger, resting better or creating a healthier daily rhythm.
Who do I want beside me?
The life you create is shaped by the people around you. Think about the relationships that give you energy, challenge you, support you and allow you to be fully yourself.
Write down three people you want to spend more time with — and one relationship you would like to strengthen.
What do I want my next 40 years to stand for?
Imagine looking back on this chapter of your life many years from now. Beyond achievements or possessions, what would make you feel that you used these years well?
Finish this sentence: “If my next 40 years were about three things, they would be…”
Your next 40 years don’t need a perfect plan.
You don’t have to know exactly where the next chapter will take you. Start by noticing what you want more of, what you’re ready to release and what feels worth moving toward.
Then choose one small step and take it.
Your next 40 years start with what you choose today.
Turn these questions into your own next-chapter plan.
